For those of you that don’t know us, let me introduce you to Training For Warriors Connecticut. Andreas Washeim started A-Lasting-Fitness in 2007; a one-on-one personal training studio. Over the years, KettlebellFitessCT was created to bring proper kettlebell training to the community. In 2011, Debra Rydziel was brought on to develop the group training and Cast Iron Fitness was introduced. We have now evolved into a ‘familia’ of over 250 locations worldwide as part of the Training For Warriors Organization.
We are more than just a place to workout.
The Training For Warriors system is a fitness program originally created for some of the best combat athletes in the world more than 15 years ago. But over that time, it was recognized that the training methods of the TFW system can benefit anyone looking to lose fat, build muscle and feel good. Now with 200 locations in 30 countries, tens of thousands of people per day are using the TFW system to bring their fitness to another level. What is TFW?
The Training For Warriors system is a physical and mental training program originally created for fighters by Martin Rooney more than 15 years ago. This training program utilizes ongoing evaluation and feedback to adapt specific strength and conditioning protocols to best fit a warrior’s needs. After over a decade of use by many of the top fighters in the world, we have realized that you do not have to be a fighter to use the TFW system, but you do have to be a warrior. A warrior is defined as anyone that is prepared to work hard and develop oneself in an effort to battle against his or her particular challenges in life. The TFW system was designed to develop the muscular strength and mental fortitude to take on those challenges. Today, many top athletes in a number of professional sports are using the TFW system to bring their fitness to another level.
What separates the TFW system from other training programs is its holistic approach to training. TFW encompasses detailed warmups, speed training, strength training, endurance training, flexibility work and nutrition all of which are based on a comprehensive evaluation process. These training modalities are all applied based on the 12 guiding principles that are the philosophical foundation of the TFW system. As a result of this principle-centered approach, the TFW system offers endless variety while still focused on producing constant gains.
